Mason First Day of Kindergarten

Mason started kindergarten two weeks ago and has absolutely loved it. I have had a harder time with it then he has. Here are some pictures from his first day.
New Shoes!

Tanner was just as excited as Mason and insisted on me packing a lunch for him and wearing his backpack too.

Here comes the bus

Waiting to get on

There he goes! Seriously did I just send my 5 year old away on a bus by himself? I was a wreck by this point and Tanner and I hopped in the car and followed the bus all the way to the school. (Two weeks later and I still am not use to this bus thing, but he loves it and feels so big to get to ride the bus)
When we got there it took me a minute to find a parking spot. I rushed in and found Mason and asked how the bus ride was, he said good (secretly I wanted him to hate it so I could just drive him myself). He walked with his class down to his class room and I followed behind.
Here he is waiting for class to start! We made these for Masons Teachers. I found the idea in the Creating Keepsakes Magazine. You use a rollo candy bar and chocolate kisses to make a giant pencil.

I really can't believe I have a kindergartner, where does the time go? I have always heard moms say how hard it is to send your kids to school for the first time, but nothing could have prepared me for this. I really had a hard time and have shed many tears. The first day I couldn't believe how slow the day went. By 2:00 I was dying to have him home, home safe with me. Hopefully i will get more use to this, but I am grateful that he loves it.

The Bunk Beds

So the boys dreams came true... They got bunk beds!
We had been eying these bunk beds at costco for quite some time now, and finally decided to get them. We were a little nervous (okay a lot nervous) about moving Tanner to a big boy bed. He can be a little stinker about naps and bed time and it was sure nice to stick him in the crib where he couldn't get out and had to just go to sleep. But he has pleasantly surprised us. He has done great and loves feeling so big and sleeping in his own big bed. Really, when did he get so big?

Our Trip to Hilton Head, SC

Last week we took a little Vacation to Hilton Head, South Carolina. We had such a GREAT time. We went from playing at the beach to swimming in the pool to riding bikes all over the island and up and down the coast. We would just go from one thing to the next over and over again all day long. The boys were in heaven. It was a beautiful place and we are so glad we got to go! Here are {a lot} of pictures from the trip!

Found this little Crab, Mason named him Crabee

Mason and Drew on their Bikes

Tanner loved every minute playing on the beach. He could have stayed there all day long!

On one of our bike rides. It was so pretty everywhere we went.

One night at our hotel they had a giant blow up screen they set out by the pool and showed the movie UP. We sat on the lounge chairs and watched for a bit.Bad picture, but you get the idea!
One night we rode our bikes to Cold Stone and enjoyed some yummy ice cream!
Here we are on one of our bike rides. Mason LOVED riding on the back, having his own bike, and we loved it to because we didn't have to worry about him keeping up or getting hit.
On our afternoon rides this is how Tanner rode. Had to get that afternoon nap in somewhere!

The boys thought this was the coolest sandcastle ever (It was pretty cool). EVERY time we walked by they had to stop and look. They had signs up the said "Do not Touch" which made it that much more enticing. I thought for sure by the end of trip there was going to be a disaster with this sandcastle.
Playing at the poolHappy to be there

Playing at the beach

That was our hotel in the back. It was so nice to be literally steps from the beach
