Red

So I have to do a quick post on Red, the fire engine from the movie"Cars". First a little background information...Around last Christmas, Mason really started getting into "Cars" the movie. He received a few of the die cast cars as gifts, and that is when the collection began. It has become a family affair. Okay, I'm not going to lie, we (including Drew) are pretty much obsessed with collecting them. For those of you that don't know much about them (I'm sure you don't have any boys otherwise you know all about them) they make the die cast cars in every single character you could possible think of that appears, even for a second, in the movie. So it has been our mission to find all of these prized gems. Some are really easy to find (like all of the Ramone's), others are very hard to come by. It has become a regular routine to stop by the "Cars" isles in our shopping outings. If we happen to find a new one, we snag it up. So the other day we were at our favorite store (Target) and I came across Red the fire engine!! I was practically screaming and dancing. Mason wasn't sure what was going on, but when he figured out what I found he was quiet excited too. And when I told Drew when he got home, let me tell you, we were all happy.

Now to ensure that you are all thinking we are the weirdest family around, during the summer while in Utah, we were driving home from my grandparents Cabin in Kolob and we drove past this...

And what was the first thing Drew said... that fire engine looks just like Red!! So of course we had to pull over and take a picture. But really, it looks just like him!!

So here is a picture I took of the collection a few months back. It has grown even more since then. Who new collecting cars could be so much fun. Call us crazy or just plain weird, but we love "Cars" and have had so much fun finding ones we don't have! I dare you to start collecting and tell me it doesn't become addicting!!!

LOVE the post! As you know we are pretty obsessed at our house too, the only problem is I have to buy 2 of everything, so we're not even close to having that many yet, but we are working on it. I'm actually surprised that we haven't run into each other on the cars isle at the stores! Happy hunting!

I love it! I'm glad you found Red. It's too bad we don't have any boys to start that tradition...that WOULD be weird if we started it ourselves

Whoa, that is weird. Just kidding, I actually think it is really cool. Kids love collecting things, way to start Mas at a young age. he looks so cute with his big collection. I hope the boys don't mess up your place too bad this weekend, I told preston to be clean so hopefully you aren't overwhelmed when you get home! Hope you had fun! Thanks for letting him stay!
