Crazy Wintery Weather!

We have had the craziest weather around here the last few days. It started off Monday night when we had a big snow storm come in. All the schools here were cancelled, including the Dental school. So then on Tuesday we had this crazy ICE STORM! It was the coolest, craziest thing. Well you can imagine the problems that come when everything is covered in a thick sheet of ice. So school was cancelled again on Wednesday, along with pretty much the whole city. Then on Wednesday we got more snow, so now everything is covered with a layer of snow, then a layer of ice, and then another layer of snow on top of that. School was cancelled again today, and also tomorrow!! What, four days off, that never happens. Right now there are over 200,000 people here who don't have power. Because of the weight on the trees from the ice, we have had a lot of power lines down. Luckily, we still have power.

Here are a few pictures we have taken over the last few days:
This Tree normally stands straight up
Thick sheet of ice covering all the cars
Wednesday morning Drew went out to move our car because it was parked under a tree and we didn't wanted it falling on the car. This is what he brought in from off the car
Yes people it is a solid piece of ice measuring over 1/2 an inch thick!
A Branch Drew broke off the tree, they literally snap right off. Mason thought it was so cool. We now have a few of these in our freezer. Mason insisted that we keep them. I have no idea what for, but what can I say, he is a persistent thing!

The Birthday Celebration

Here are a few pictures from Tanners  Birthday. He started off the day with opening some presents. The rest of the day he played and napped and played. That evening we had a little party for him. We had some friends over for cake and ice cream. It was a fun day for one fun little 1 year old.

Opening Presents
He loves this bike G & G Steel gave him. Mason would push him all over the house on it and Tanner would laugh the whole time! Such a thrill for a 1 year old!

All his fun presents!

The Birthday Celebration
I had to have a theme, so I decided to go with a monkey theme. Made these cute monkey Cupcakes
Singing and getting ready to blow out his candle
I think he liked it!!
After eating his cake
It was a Great Day! Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate!

Christmas Vacation

Okay so I am finally getting around to posting a few pictures of our Christmas Festivities. We had a GREAT time in Utah with our families. I really don't know where to begin. It snowed while we were there (which is sooo rare in St. George).

Mason and Drew had lots of fun building snowmen and playing in the snow.
Mason and Tanner also had so much fun playing with their cousins. We got to see all of them except Savana and Sadie (Missed you guys).
Mason's first time bowling
We loved seeing friends we don't get to see to often. Amber threw a wonderful Christmas Party!
Mason got to go to Grandma's Preschool, and loved it.
Of course the reindeer obsession didn't end when we went home (It only escalated). Grandma made this sleigh for Preschool and Mason took it over as his own!
Christmas Eve at Grandma Frei's.
Acting out the Nativity with the West Clan (Lilly was baby Jesus)
Christmas morning at my parents house. Mason loved every minute of it
Tanner just took it all in
Alice made all the girls these darling retro aprons
And the boys got super hero capes
And last BUT certainly not least, the Annual Steel Family Gingerbread House Competition.
Well you are looking at it, the big winner this year....
Yep, we pulled off a win again this year. We had some stiff competition this year (as you can see). Great Job everyone!!
